Natural History: The Monrovia Surgeonfish is normally found on rock and coral areas at the mouths of rivers and lagoons.
Husbandry: In an aquarium, the Monrovia Surgeonfish may tolerate tangs of other genera but is generally intolerant of other Acanthurus or its own species. Algae should be available and a varied diet is essential for its successful care.
