Body Form: Merulinids have highly variable growth forms with sometimes striking colors.
Diet: Some have zooxanthellae and others are entirely heterotrophic.
Care Level: difficult
Natural History: Most genus include species that are symbiotic and found on protected reef slopes and lagoons. They are unusually difficult to maintain in captivity, subject to bleaching and decline. |
