Natural History: The Nassa Snail is a common inhabitant of sandy coral reefs. The Nassa Snail is a small snail that has a long thin siphon. It can burrow beneath the sand and travel, feeding on carrion and using its siphon to breathe above the sand.
Husbandry: Nassa Snails can clean up aquariums by feeding on and recycling carrion and leftover food. They also burrow in sand and aerate it. Hermit crabs can kill this species of snail.
