It is an herbivore that prefers macroalgae for food. It is commonly seen on seagrass beds and in tidepools. Husbandry: The Sea Hare will not eat most types of Caulerpa or calcerous algae species. It prefers still water and lots of algae to feed on. It can be harassed and harmed by larger fish and crustaceans. It may secrete ink if stressed but the ink has not been shown to be toxic in aquaria. | ||||
