:  The Bandfishes
Taxonomy: Perciformes, Bandfishes  (Cepolidae)
General Information: There are only 2 genera and about 19 species of Bandfishes. They have elongated bodies with long dorsal and anal fins that are continuous to the tip of the caudal fin. Their mouths are upturned and most species have large eyes.
Diet: Most members of this family are reported to feed on zooplankton and benthic invertebrates.
Final Note: This is an obscure family of marine fishes and specimens rarely appear in the aquarium community.
