:  The Shrimpfishes
Taxonomy: Gasterosteiformes, Shrimpfishes  (Centriscidae)
General Information: There are only 2 genera and 4 species of shrimpfishes. They have thin compressed bodies with long tubelike snouts. They lack teeth and have a dorsal fin where the tail fin usually exists.
Diet: These fish feed on benthic crustaceans: copepods, amphipods, small fish, and zooplankton.
Final Note: These fish are best housed in a specimen system that contains them alone with live rock and a refuguium to provide their crustacean food species.
