:  The Moorish Idol
Taxonomy: Perciformes, Moorish Idol  (Zanclidae)
General Information: The moorish idol is the only member of this group. It has a protrusive mouth, a long and thin arched dorsal fin, and recognizable colors.
Diet: It grazes on algae and sponges.
Final Note: The moorish idol is a difficult fish in the home aquarium. Many different foods must be offered, including live shrimp, frozen mysid shrimp, and vegetable matter. Algae on live rock should also be available.
