General Information: Labridae includes about 500 species in 60 genera. Most are brightly colored and small, but the largest reaches over 8 feet in length. They have long undivided dorsal fins, cycloid (overlapping) scales, and a protractile () mouth with protruding forward teeth.
Diet: Most either feed on bottom-dwelling invertebrates, zooplankton, or fish.
Final Note: Most wrasses are hardy additions to the home aquarium. They are avid jumpers and the tank lid must be secure.
