Natural History: The Blue Velvet Damsel is found on coastal fringing reefs, reef flats, and faces. Juveniles are blue with pale blue or white stripes from head to tail, with a bright vertical bar. Adults are an overall brown color.
Husbandry: The Blue Velvet Damsel is aggressive and should only be kept with aggressive tankmates. While juveniles are quite passive, the adults are the opposite. It should be housed singly to avoid intense bullying between multiple Blue Velvet Damsels in the same aquarium.
