Natural History: The Xanthurus Angelfish is found on lagoons, reef faces, and slopes in areas of coral and rock. It is observed singly or in pairs.
Husbandry: Unlike most members of its genus, the Xanthurus Angelfish is hardy and will accept nearly any aquarium fare. It is more disease resistant than most angelfishes. It will likely be bullied by other more aggressive angelfishes but will occasionally bully newly introduced tankmates itself.
