Natural History: The Yellowbelly Alleni Damsel is found on coral and rubble flats, usually close to the bottom, as it feeds on zooplankton. It is most often observed in pairs or loose groups on reefs.
Husbandry: The Yellowbelly Alleni Damsel is a durable aquarium fish but aggressive also. This species is aggressive with other smaller damsels, especially Chrysiptera sp. Young fish are successful tankmates but older individuals must be separated. Its color may fade with age, stress, or a poor diet.
