Family: Pomacentridae (Damselfish)
Natural Range: Indo-Pacific Region
Depth: 39 to 146 ft.   Size: 5.5 in.   Jumps: No   Space: 75+ gal.
Reef Safe: Yes   Care Level: Easy   Temperament: Peaceful

Natural History: The Golden Damsel is found in reef channels and on reef slopes where sea fans, whips, and soft corals are abundant. Adults are usually solitary and juveniles usually occur in small groups. Juveniles are observed in groups in association with sea fans and soft corals.
Husbandry: The Golden Damsel is somewhat aggressive and more suitable for larger tanks with moderately aggressive tankmates. This species grows larger than many of its close damsel relatives, so it requires a larger aquarium. Only one should be housed per tank unless the tank is very large and a male-female pair is available, which should be introduced together.
