Natural History: Queen conches are found on sandy reefs. They glide over sand and graze for algae. They have well developed eyes on stalks that they can peer with from beneath their shell.
Husbandry: Queen conches require a large sand area to thrive. Small individuals will climb aquarium walls but large individuals are too heavy and will remain on the substrate. Hermit crabs can kill this species. The queen conch requires considerable algae or algae supplement to thrive.
