(Chaenopsidae) General Information: There are 9 genera and 60 species of Chaenopsids. They have elongate bodies with long continuous dorsal fins. They lack a lateral line and often have spiny heads. Diet: These fish feed on small invertebrates and fishes. Final Note: These fish are interesting to observe due to their incessant darting in and out of holes and recesses in search of food.
