:  The Rabbitfish
Taxonomy: Perciformes, Rabbitfish  (Siganidae)
General Information: There are 27 species and 1 genus of rabbitfishes. They have a flat body with a protrusive snout with cycloid scales. There are saltwater and brackish water species.
Diet: Most are herbivores but one species feeds on fish feces.
Final Note: Rabbitfishes have dorsal spines with venom and mus tbe handled with care. They constantly pick at algae and have been noted to pick at the small polyps of some corals.
