Natural History: The Scooter Dragonet is found in sandy lagoons over rock in small groups.
Husbandry: The Scooter Dragonet requires special attention to maintain in captivity. It normally eats copepods in the sand and must be provided live sand or food regularly to accommodate its requirement for live food. Do not house with other planktivore tankmates - one will starve. Do not house with aggressive tankmates. Either keep one scooter dragonet per tank or one male with 2 females. Live rock, macroalgae, and a refugium help to produce the type of food that this species prefers.
