Natural History: The Neon Goby is found around coral heads on reef lagoons and slopes. It has been observed serving as a cleaner species.
Husbandry: The Neon Goby is a peaceful fish that should only be housed with other peaceful tankmates. It will often chase other neon gobies in an aquarium but will not likely inflict any damage. It has been observed to clean tankmates in captivity and eat small meaty food offerings.
Reproduction: This species is reported to be monogamous.
