Natural History: The Ornate Leopard Wrasse is found on reef crests and slopes over rubble or mixed sand and rubble. Males are usually encountered singly whereas females are observed in small groups. Males have more vivid colors than females.
Husbandry: The Ornate Leopard Wrasse should be housed in an aquarium with live sand and rock. It will burrow at night or when threatened. Only one male leopard wrasse should be housed per community aquarium. The Ornate Leopard Wrasse should not be housed with aggressive tankmates. A refugium helps to provide some of their natural foods.
