Diet: photosynthetic , particulates, flocculents, possibly detritus
Natural History: Discosoma includes a number of color-distinguishing species. The entire genus is tolerant of a wide variety of reef conditions and depths. Green is likely the most common color for this genus. Many are able to close up in a purse-string type of enclosure to possibly capture prey such as small fish.
Husbandry: The entire genus prefers somewhat shaded light and moderate current. They should not be placed near stony or soft corals. Some hobbyists report that iodine supplementation is very beneficial but this is yet unproven. Specimens may grow to 4 inches in diameter.
