Aussie Moseleya (Moseleya sp)
Family: Faviidae (Stony Corals)
Habitat: Frequently seen in lagoons and in deeper water.
Light: Medium Water Flow: Medium Space: 50+ gal.
Reef Safe: Yes Care Level: Moderate Temperament: Peaceful
Diet: These corals have zooxanthellae which provide much of their nutrition. It is believed they also feed on microzooplankton and directly absorb some nutrients from the water.
Natural History: Moseleya is found in reef lagoons and slopes with turbid water and muddy substrates. It has been found in intertidal zones and is generally restricted to shallower reef areas. This species grows in small colonies that consist of one or several corallites which may or may not attach to the substrate.
Husbandry: Moseleya grow best with indirect bright light and moderate water flow. The polyps should be kept clear of debris.
